We finished up our solar system unit with some incredible presentations last week! Students formed groups based on a variety of interests.They had to work together to develop questions, research and answer them , as well as plan a final project to present to the class. The kids were amazing! It was a lot of hard work, cooperation and compromises, but they really did a fantastic job. Be sure to ask y our child about it!

This group created a scale model of the solar system to hang in the hallway with information on each planet to share with the Harmony House.

This group created a pop up book about the planets and read it to the class.

This group wrote a puppet show about the differences between Earth and Neptune and presented it to the class.

This group wrote a news report comparing the Sun and other stars and shared the video on the smart board.

This group wrote a picture book about the sun’s importance and read it to the class.

This group wrote a news report about the Sun, moon and Earth and shared it on the smart board.

Welcome back families!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a restful break, I know I sure did! It was great getting to meet with most of you for conferences. If you were unable to make it to the conference, please contact me so that we can re-schedule.

Students have their last book orders before the holiday break coming home today. If you would like to order any as gifts please be sure to put a note in the envelope or send me an email if you order online. I will contact you when they arrive. Book orders are due on or before Tuesday, December 9th so they will arrive before winter break.

Students learned all about rocks today in Four winds. Be sure to ask them all about it .
