Happy New year families!
I wanted to touch base with you to welcome you and your kiddos back to school and to let you all know that we have an awesome trip coming up. On January 15th Mrs. Cioffi’s class will be joining us for an amazing day at Shelburne Farms. We will be exploring the farm, looking for signs of animals active in winter. Students will learn to recognize animal tracks and search for clues in their environment. It’s a great way to learn about VT animals and enjoy the outdoors together. A permission slip will be coming home Monday or Tuesday. We will leave school at 9 and will return for dismissal. Hopefully many of you will be able to join us for the day!

We had a wonderful time at the Potlatch Ceremony before the holiday break. Students in all third grades taught other third graders about a food and craft from their classes region. Our class will continue to learn about Native Americans of the North East. Later this month students will travel to other classrooms to present a PowerPoint presentation on their region. We will spend a great deal of time reading and researching the many tribes of the North East. Please feel free to share any knowledge you have or family stories of the tribes of the North East.
