Room 193 Updates

Students are really excited to share their reader’s theater tomorrow with families. They are reading much more fluently and will be able to share this growth with families. If you plan to join us, please be in the classroom at 2 pm because we will be starting at that time and don’t want you to miss it!

Thank you to all of the families that were able to attend parent conferences this week. It was wonderful getting to sit with all of you and to discuss your child’s growth this semester.

Miss. Mcnally  had a fantastic week getting to know our class. She was able to learn a great deal about MBS and our classroom.  Please welcome her and support her in any way you can!

Students will be participating in the SBAC interim assessment next Wednesday. This will be a brief introduction to the SBAC assessment that they will be taking this Spring. Ms. Blake (our literacy coordinator will be here to administer the assessments and support Miss. Mcnally. Please do all that you can to have your child in class on November 4th.

Room 193 Reminders

* Picture re-takes are tomorrow. Please return the original picture envelope.

* Book orders are due tomorrow. If you would like to order any books for the holidays, just send in  a note and I will contact you when they come in. Please remember to make checks payable to Scholastic.

* We had amazing candidates for the long term sub position. We interviewed them yesterday, and I am thrilled. It was the first full night of sleep I have had in a long time! I look forward to telling you more.

* There is a possibility that I will be holding all of my conferences on 10/27. I will let you know as soon as I hear.

* Our reader’s theater celebration will be 10/30 from 2:05-3:00. The students will be working on their scripts over the next two weeks and are excited to share them with families. I will try to record them and post them here for families that are unable to attend. Please look for an email to sign up for goodies for this celebration. It will be my last day in the classroom and I’m hoping many of you can attend.

Mazza’s Pumpkin Patch

We had an amazing day at the pumpkin patch! Thank you parent chaperones for walking with us, driving the pumpkins and helping us enjoy a beautiful day together.

Four Winds and Fifth Grade Buddies

We had an incredible four wind’s class today with Jessica Edelmann and Laura Emerson (from Mrs. Cioffi’s class). The students learned all about metamorphosis, be sure to ask them about it!

We had a wonderful time designing and building structures out of uncooked spaghetti and mini marshmallows with our fifth grade buddies! Students had the challenge to build the tallest structure and really did a great job. We will be working with our fifth grade buddies every other week, so look for more exciting activities in the future.
