Merchants Bank Visits Room 193

We had a wonderful lesson on financial responsiblility from the Merchants Bank just before February vacation. Students talked about savings goals and ways to save money. They played a fun game and even won some prizes. It was a great lesson and the students did a fantastic job. Thanks Merchants Bank!

Curriculum Update

Happy Friday Families!
I wanted to give you an update on our curriculum topics over the next few weeks. On Monday we will start Unit 8 in Everyday Math. This unit will focus on fractions. In reading, we will work on guided reading groups as well as independent reading of Native American Tales. These will go along with our new Social Studies unit on Native Americans. Students will be working in a small group to research a tribe, write a report, and make a model village that they will present to the class. I would LOVE some help from you with this project. Can you search your craft closets and send in any scrap materials that students can use? Scrap fabric, fake fur, wooden sticks, small plastic containers or boxes, beads, as well as air dry clay, etc. We have some materials here in the classroom, but could use your help with others. Any and all supplies would be greatly appreciated. This will be a really fun project for all! Thanks for your support.

Parent Conferences

I wanted to thank those of you that were able to attend parent conferences yesterday. As always, it was wonderful getting to spend time with you discussing your child. If you were unable to attend, please contact me so that we can schedule a time to meet. Thanks and have a great day!
